Part Sixteen
The rest of the day past quickly and in a bit of a blur. And mostly, I'm getting
tired of writing. *g*
We went back to the Bronzers' seats, keeping quiet since Nicky was well into his
Q&A. I snuck up behind LouWho and DoBoy and whispered, "So, am I a god yet?"
(See how much I'm opening up to you guys? I'm even displaying my
annoying smug-streak that I wish I didn't have.)
They immediately declared me the luckiest person they'd ever met. I tried to fill
them in on a little of what had happened, then, promising to tell more later, I headed for
my front row seat.
Zoom lens once more in place, I proceeded to kill an entire roll on Nick as he sat in
his chair onstage, looking exhausted but patient has he answered question after question
and sent pre-teen after pre-teen into hysterical giggles with his whispered I love you's.
Even looking like death warmed over, he managed to make everyone laugh as he deliberately
teased his hair into your average person's worst nightmare. I have a feeling
he's going to regret those impulses when those pictures start popping up on the
net.
Let's see, what did he have to say? Yes, Anya will be back. His role model
no surprise is his brother Kelly, although he did have to think about that one. He
had no idea of the "Spiderman movement" on his behalf. Psycho Beach Party
is funny sorry, that's all he said and he was filming it up til
midnight the previous night. His favorite eps another big surprise The
Zeppo, BBB and The Pack. His least favorite Some Assembly Required
apparently he still has nightmares about the fire scene. My favorite moment: when Monique
was describing the Nicholas Brendon Aficionados to him, and he said, "And that's
all you do?" to which she replied, "Well, I do have a life." What
I was most impressed by: the way he smiled and said "You're welcome" to
every thank you not just a smile and a nod, but a full "you're
welcome". That's pretty much what I remember most about the Q&A. That, and
the yellow sneakers.
So off Nicky went to his little room, hopefully to get something to eat. Then it was
time for the Nicky raffle.
Now, you've all read about my weekend who would've guessed so many
great things could happen to one person in less than 36 hours? So there was a part of me
that was actually surprised when someone else raised their hand at the third number
called. Silly me, I was already planning on how to avoid the crowd of angry fans when I
won again. *g*
But no, it was some other, probably perfectly nice woman, and I had time to actually
take a breath. It would be a short breather, though, because unlike me, this woman
unfortunately did not have as much time backstage they had to get the boys out
there and signing autographs ASAP, and of course, being in the front row, I was near the
front of the line.
They had two separate lines one for Nicky and one for James. If you wanted both,
you had to get back in line. Fortunately I already had James, I just needed Nicky. Nancy
and Rebecca tried to wait in line with me, but the nazi event people kept checking tickets
to make sure you actually belonged, so they stood off a little bit, Nancy with camera in
hand, ready to take my picture. (Being so far back, they wouldn't be called up for
quite awhile.)
Once again, I was in a daze, cause I didn't hear my name announced over the
loudspeaker. Fortunately Nancy flagged me down and pointed to the stage. What now?
I wondered, no longer thinking the worst James wants to say bye again, I actually
did win the raffle, they wanted my picture again I'm telling you, I was dazed.
But no, apparently I'd completely forgotten to pick up the very expensive Nicky
painting from the artist in the dealers' room. Thank Joss I'd paid by credit card, or
they wouldn't have had my name!
