10 Random Thoughts for a Thursday Evening

Silverado is a silly movie, but still, way better than Unforgiven.

I bruised my neck at Krav Maga last night, so that it hurt to hold my head up all day.

I can’t remember if Western has an exit off the 10. I’m going to need this information tomorrow.

Borders sucks, ’cause they didn’t have either of the two books I was looking for tonight. I hate having to settle.

Kevin Costner was adorable when he was young.

I believe I’m addicted to LexiBox. Who’s with me??

My cats are the cutest!cats on the planet!

My to do list for tomorrow is fuller than when I’m at work. I fear I will not be able to fit in the new headlight.

I get to see John Saturday night, he’s finally playing right here in town—instead of driving for an hour and a half to see him, he’ll be just five minutes away at the Improv. Yay Improv!

It is still an hour early, but not on the east coast, so, Happy Birthday Allyson!

Send help! Preferably in the form of a bagel!

I am home this morning waiting for workmen to arrive to fix a warped window that wasn’t bothering me in the first place, but was apparently annoying the building owner. Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me to stock my cabinets with food before this little house arrest I’m under, so I’m verra verra hungry. I probably should’ve known that three cups of coffee, rather than alleviate my hunger, would only make me jittery as well as hungry, but hey, live and learn, right?

In addition to hungry, I’m annoyed at workmen who think “sometime after 11” is an actual measure of time. Technically 6pm is after 11, but if I’m still waiting by then, someone’s gonna be in a world of hurt.

On any other day, I could order food. Oo, delivery, what a concept! Unfortunately, thanks to a cruel twist of fate, my debit card was eaten by an ATM on Saturday, so I must conserve my limited on-hand cash until a) my new card arrives; or b) I can get to a bank to cash a check. Sometimes technology can just bite you in the ass when you least expect it.

I hate days like this, when I should be at work, but I’m not. It’s weird, I know, but even though I have a valid reason to be home, and it’ll probably cost me a perfectly good vacation day, I still feel like I’m playing hooky. I should be enjoying this time off, watching a movie or knitting up a storm – or both. But I’m twisted up with guilt and annoyance at the too-good-to-give-an-accurate-ETA workmen.

I blame the three cups of coffee.

Did you watch Wonderfalls Friday night?

No? Why not? Perhaps you didn’t read Allyson’s review of it. Or maybe you didn’t see the open letter to the Grass Roots from Tim Minear, Executive Producer of Wonderfalls. Or maybe you just forgot it was on.

But guess what? All is not lost, for FOX is rebroadcasting the premiere tomorrow night! Yep, it’s on FOX on Thursday night, March 18th, at 9pm, after Tru Calling. You should be fully recovered from your St. Patrick’s Day hangover by then, so pull up a chair, grab the chips, and prepare to be entertained by the fabulous new show Wonderfalls.

Oh, yes, and Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everybody! *smooch*

The one where I lightspeed through my weekend

It’s been a week since my last entry. How sad. But yo, the weekend was of the good.

I’d left it pretty open in case there were tapes to be transcribed (my new part time job—have I mentioned my new part time job? I should probably reread my previous entries…), but once I found out they had none (at the time, anyway), it filled up pretty quickly. There were movies and dvds (Secret Window=good, but predictable; Once Upon a Time in Mexico=eh, some of it was amusing, but I just couldn’t get into it; Fight Club=way cool, can’t imagine why A thought I wouldn’t like it), naps, hiking (more like walking, but whatever), kickboxing, sushi, yarn shopping, and group Wonderfalls viewage (it’s good, you should watch it, and if you don’t believe me, read this by my friend A). Unfortunately I didn’t leave my Sunday open enough, as there were tapes to be done that day and I had to turn them down in favor of work I’d brought home and procrastinated on, but hopefully they’ll have more for next weekend, when I can release the “no” guilt. So except for that, it was a fabulous weekend, the kind that needs to be repeated on a regular basis.

In other news, I skipped krav yesterday (lower back pain sucks) in favor of attending tonight’s class instead. I’m wondering how long it’ll be before going to class excites me instead of making me nervous. I hate being a newbie.

Pictures!

Finally! It took a mini forever, but the Wolfram and Hart Annual Revue pictures are finally here. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll point and mock, just don’t surf through while operating heavy equipment, it’s not safe.
